[Sorry that I'm a week & a half late; kinda busy with school until this semester ends.]
Last Sunday night, November 29, was Justin Nozuka's concert at Great American Music Hall here in SF. One word to describe the whole night -- AMAZING! One of the best nights I've had this year. I brought Angela & Pearl with me as their Christmas present. I was so happy that GAMH didn't check bags; I was kinda stressing about them telling me that I couldn't use my D3000, but thankfully, I brought it 'cause I got a few really good shots.
Justin had opening acts by Elizabeth & The Catapult and Sam Bradley. I've never heard of them before, but I really enjoyed their music. I've noticed that Justin's opening acts are always pretty good. Elizabeth & The Catapult wrote a song while on tour with Justin & they made a duet. It is such a beautiful song. I really enjoyed Sam Bradley, especially his songs "Whiskey" & "Scared". His sound is more like blues. His guitarist Dave is kinda cute with a light turquoise Fender.
Once Justin got on stage, girls who were standing behind Angela & Pearl were pushing them &went hella fangirl. I was kinda surprised that they didn't push me 'cause I'm small. But if they did, I would have said or done something. Justin never ceases to amaze me at his concerts. He just keeps getting better & better. His drummer Alex was sick, so he had the drummer from Elizabeth & the Catapult. The drummer learned all of Justin's songs in one day. Gg! I had front row (kinda) off center this time! Finally! The previous concerts I went to I was always at the front row right, in front of Anthony. He sang some of his songs from his debut album, two new songs I've never heard of ("Ababayo" & "I'm Free"), did a snippet of "Swan in the Water" (I wish it was longer, its one of my favorite songs), "After Tonight" (acoustic version), & "Hollow Men". Throughout the concert, Justin was smiling time to time because of the fact almost the whole audience sang along to his songs. So cute. There was this one guy who kept on saying, "Justin, you're a savage beast!", each time Justin had a little time to talk. Lol. When Justin came back on stage for his encore, the same guy said, "Justin, you're a savage beast! Sing 'Sorry!'" Justin replied, "No, you're a savage beast dude!" & ended up singing "Sorry", maybe 'cause he kinda got annoyed by the guy telling him to sing "Sorry". I was so surprised that the concert ended earlier than usual, around 10:30.
Remember how I blogged about his meet & greet contest? Surprisingly & coincidentally, I was one of the winners of the SF concert! So, I got to meet him after the concert with a friend. I couldn't chose between Angela & Pearl, so I let them decide themselves. Angela let Pearl meet him 'cause Angela & I already kinda met Justin when he played at The Fillmore. One of my 101 things to do in 1001 days. Most embarrassing convo ever. Justin is sucha sweetheart; he was so chill, humble, & down to earth. I kept on smiling the whole three minutes I was with him. I told him that he put on a really great show, how Bom was falling asleep to his songs earlier when I was listening to them, & that it was my third time seeing him live. He gave me a hug. Omg, he's so skinny & pretty tall. When I was rolling up his poster he signed for me, it got kinda wrinkled & he asked me if I wanted a new one. How sweet, but I told him its okay. I forgot to ask him what does his two new tattoos mean. Next time, hopefully?
